Dear, dear friends. Please be gentle with me. My resolutions aren't going so well. In fact, they're going horribly. I, like always, have big plans in the works to make them happen, but somehow I keep spinning my tires. Probably a heaping helping of laziness, actual exhaustion, aaaaand I think my give a dang might be busted. I think I even missed a month of posting my resolution check. I can't imagine why... maybe public humiliation will get my butt in gear!
1. Make something and give it away once a month. I'm still stuck on food. Making food for people's birthdays, etc.
2. Learn to knit and/or crochet. Saving it for fall/winter.
3. Work out 3 or 4 days a week. FAILURE... so far. But like I said, I have plans.
4. Get our pictures into scrapbook/albums. Summer project.
5. Contact every immediate family member on their birthday. I missed one, gosh dangit! I knew that was going to happen. My nephew Blake, went uncontacted by me on his birthday. I am super hacked about this one.
6. Continue losing weight until I reach/go beyond my goal then maintain my goal for the remainder of the year. I have gained back a few pounds, but I'm still looking at between a 25 and 30 lb loss total. I've set another goal to be at by the time I get back to school next fall.
7. Enroll Faith in some kind of MDO. Probably the only resolution I feel good about. Faith is doing so great and she loves school.
8. Read more. I mean, I’m an adult and adults read, right? I've been reading through a Bible Study that I was a part of with a friend's church. God worked in that book people. Good stuff.
9. Engage somehow (read Bible, journal, sing praise, etc.) with Christ on a daily basis. This is not a failure, more like a semi-success. I feel more in tune with Jesus than I have in a long time. God is good.
10. Scout out and purchase some kickin’ furniture for our living room. I put this on the backburner on purpose until I get my priorities straight. I am decorating with items I already bought that I love and I have alot to do in that department.
11. Drink more water than DDP. Failure. But I have a plan.
So there it is. See why I didn't want to post, it's not even fun to read when there's no plus side whatsoever. But it's truth so there you have it.

Something's Gotta Give
That is how I've felt lately. It's not that I'm too busy or have too much on my plate, it's just that I've been choosing to focus on different things right now. I've been trying to look past good to what's best. God's been shining some light on a few areas in my life that just weren't that pretty.
One being my obsession with getting my house to look like some sort of showroom that is nonexistent exept in magazines and catalogs. I know I'm not the only girl in the world that has gotten caught up in cute little blogs where these people design on a dime, create from crap, or repurpose from recycle-ables. I would cruise blogs daily looking for ideas and TJ and I got in some "heated debates" about money and time I was spending on the computer regarding the house decorating. Everytime someone changed their mantle or made a new wreath out of some ridiculous recycled material I was pouting about how I couldn't do that and how I had such crap around my house. Blah, blah, blah.
God showed me that it's good that I want my house to look nice, but it's best that I enjoy the people in my house and be grateful for my MANY MANY blessings. So I gave away the money I'd been saving and stopped turning on my computer to check blogs. Today is the first day I've been on my home computer in over a week and I'm only on here to print coupons and post this post. I feel like a new woman. Yes, I can still get annoyed when I think about the fact that I'm not a natural decorator and yes, I still want my friend (who is a natural) to come work her magic. But I've moved on to the best thing. And I can honestly say I haven't pined over the couch once for the past month.
God is molding me. Changing me. It feels good. It feels weird. Because to tell you the truth for the past few years I've beena little unmoldable.
In other non-lifechanging news:
-We got sod for the immediate front of our yard. We're actually not the laughing stock of the neighborhood now. And you would be surprised how many neighbors have started talking to us since then. :)
-We finally got our garden planted. We went crazy again with the amount of plants we planted so hopefully we'll have a good crop to give away.
-Faith got in her first bit of trouble at school. It turned out to be a big misunderstanding, but none the less there was a baggy of hair from another child's head with Faith's DNA on it. And I cried like a little baby. But we're over it now. Kinda.
-20 days left of school. My class is amazing this year and I WILL cry the last day.
- I'm still couponing and I've saved so much friggin' money on groceries. If you are thinking about trying your hand at it, I recommend couponcloset.net. She spells everything out for you.
- My resolutions aren't going as well as last years. I'm sad to even post about them. We'll see if I can bring myself to type of my list of failures another day.

Faith-isms
Faith's vocabulary is ridiculous. She says the craziest things sometimes. Here are a few:
1. Her favorite foods are prefixed with the adjective Oklahoma, or in her words, "Opi-homa." For example, "Can I have some Opihoma yogurt, peez?" Or maybe "Opihoma cereal" is more your style. Maybe "Opihoma juice" is what you're really jonesin' for. The hardest part to figure out is what she's referring to. On any given day Opihoma cereal can be one of the five kinds of cereal in the pantry. She changes at her own discretion. And looks at YOU like you've lost YOUR marbles if you get out the un-Opihoma cereal.
2. Yesterday as she got off her little potty chair she announced, "My bottom hurts. Mommy, can you put some butter on it?"
3. While eating dinner she was rattling off some menagerie about her food. I jokingly looked at her and asked, "WHAT language are you speaking, little girl?" Disgustedly she looked at me and, as serious as can be, answered, "English."
4. My mom was leaving Thursday afternoon when I got home from work and told Faith that she'd see her tomorrow. Faith looked at her happily and said, " You come and see me tomor- you come and see me Friday!"
5. "No problem." As in "Daddy friend Daniel come to my house? No problem." or "I have my hair like Mover Scott? No problem!" Ummm, yeah. That IS a problem.
6. She has a healthy obsession with all things "cowhand." Your house might say cowboy, but not at the Aragon house. She had a cowboy day at school and TJ's parents decked Faith out in all the essentials. Immediately when she tried her cowboy hat on at the store she began running around in boots and hat singing, "I'm a old cowhand from the Rio Grande...." She loves her cowhand hat, her cowhand boots, and her cowhand belt. God help us. We're country, not cowboy. I mean, cowhand.
7. She loves to be "sneaky." The problem is when she tells you "let's be sneaky" and begins her attack she contorts her face to only one a mother would love.
8. She is slowly growing out of this phase, but for quite a while the old school Willy Wonka was her FAVORITE movie. We seriously watched it over 100 times! Then for a week or so (in the middle of the obsession) she would repeat this little conversation to herself, us, anyone who would listen.
"Could I buy some golden tickets at store? Hmmmm. I know. I go at store tomorrow? I go at store tomorrrroooowww!" Watch and fall in love with her.
(Sidenote: her hair was just pulled up to get it out of her face. She is not a Who in training.)

EDIT- This morning she woke up early and in an attempt to gain a few more minutes of rest I told her she could watch cartoons in bed with me. She went back into her room and got her penguin and bunny stuffed animals. Then she ran back in her room and grabbed her most prized posession- her "cozy." She ran back to me, tossed it at me, and said, "Here mommy, it's your lucky day!"
